Payment policy
We require payment in full at the time of all appointments. We accept cash, cheques, MasterCard & Visa credit cards as well as EFTPOS.
Rebates
A HICAPS facility is provided to allow you to claim your private health fund extras rebates at the time of your appointments so you will only need to pay the gap. If we cannot claim your health fund rebate, you are still required to make payment in full. When requested, we can provide you with a tax receipt for you to claim directly from your health fund or insurance company.
Appointments
Consultations by appointment only. Please arrive 20-30 minutes before the start of your initial consultation to fill out an initial consultation questionnaire. By going through the questionnaire before hand, more time will be spent on treatment and you will get the best possible value of time with Justin.
Referrals

Do I need a referral?
- If you are a Veterans Affairs, WorkCover, TAC Accident or Medicare’s Chronic Disease Management Plan client, you are most welcome at our centre. Please let the reception staff know when making your booking that you are one of these clients.
- If you are attending through Veterans Affairs or Medicare, you must have a Doctor’s referral. If you do not have one, please see your own doctor or make an appointment with one of the friendly doctors at our centre who will be happy to provide the referral if appropriate.
- If you are attending through WorkCover and TAC Accident, you do NOT need a referral.
Late cancellation / Non-Attendance Policy
Missed appointments and those changed or cancelled at short notice inconvenience other clients. This practice requires a minimum of 24 hours notice if you wish to cancel or change your appointment; otherwise the full fee will be charged. If we can fill your appointment with another client or you can come later when we have a free time slot, you will not be charged. View our centre policies for more information.
Clothing Policy
The main method of diagnosis and treatment during an osteopathic consultation is through the use of our hands. As such, sometimes it is beneficial that you partially undress to your underwear during your visits. This is always optional, so please let your health practitioner know if you are uncomfortable with this. Gowns can be provided that open at the back when necessary and we are happy to treat with your clothes on if required.

During your consultation
- When visiting for the first time, a full case history will be taken as well as an examination. This generally requires removing some of your clothing and the performance of a simple series of movements. Assessment is based on a highly developed sense of touch, called palpation, to identify any points of weakness or excessive strain throughout the body. Although x-rays are usually not necessary, please bring along any that you already have that relate to your problem. Your osteopathic treatment will be tailored to the requirements of you as an individual, and techniques are selected which are appropriate to your needs.
- For some acute pain, one to two treatments may be all that is necessary. Three to four sessions is the average for most clients. Chronic conditions may need six to ten sessions or more.
- The success of any rehabilitation process lies in the combined efforts of you and your Osteopath. The “team” approach has the best chance of attaining your goals, so please ask as many questions as necessary for you to gain the maximum benefit from your rehabilitation program.
After your consultation
- After an osteopathic treatment, mild temporary soft tissue soreness or shifting muscle aches often occurs. Sometimes a temporary exacerbation or aggravation of your initial symptoms or underlying condition may also occur. Muscle aches can be relieved by placing heat on the affected area.
- It is also common to feel tired, light-headed, “spaced out” or a general sense of irritability for a short while after treatment. These vital reactions are quite beneficial as it indicates the body efforts to change and heal. They usually resolve within 24-48 hours but look after your body with plenty of rest while they’re resolving.
- Allow the treatment to go on working by not engage in any strenuous physical activity until the day after treatment.
- Sleep if you feel the need to, to give your body more opportunity to heal.
- If in the rare case your common symptoms last longer than a few days, please talk to us as there are usually simple ways to relieve these common symptoms. Also contact us if you have any concerns or forget some of the advice we have given you like which stretches to do.
- Discuss with us before incorporating other types of physical treatment as this can interfere with your treatment, reducing its effectiveness and possibly causing unwanted side effects. This includes physical therapy, chiropractic, physiotherapy, acupuncture, orthotics, orthodontics (bite plates, night guards, braces), bite adjustments, and any type of manual therapy or biomechanical device.
